Mastering
Mastering is the final process between the final mix and the actual CD that is released for sale and radio play. This is an important, though often overlooked, final phase in the recording process. The value of this procedure is frequently misunderstood. During mastering, a final critical analysis of the stereo mixes is performed to determine and apply beneficial processing, editing, and level adjustments. Song orders are sequenced with proper spacing and fade in/outs can be applied when appropriate, to produce a final production master that ready for duplication. The treatment process is very creative. |
